about

Once you buy the record, you'll be able to download the art/lyrics PDF, and the two bandcamp-exclusive remixes that are included. One is by Andrew Broder, one is by Circuits and Kittens. They are awesome, and only here.

This project started in 2006. The idea of a second album to follow my first self-led release hatched back then, from the dust of previous groups. Meryl Pine came from several attempts to start a "successful" band in the Minneapolis area over 16 years. I felt like these songs had a life outside of the traditional boundaries of what a band represents; the work felt independent of that construct and took on a life autonomous. I wanted something that represented what it meant for me to exist between 2006-2022, to have massive change occur in my life, and experience failed after failed attempts to try to create music. More-so, this album's concept is to allow the dead to speak; whatever that means to you.

I'm very proud of the collection produced here, and I deeply thank those fellow musicians that came alongside me during its creation.
